about

Sultan Maroon represents Rulership by our ancestors blood. This project manifested through the mutual respect between Jomac, the eclectic sound manipulator from Maryland and the Renaissance Man and Philadelphia Word Alchemist , Kareem Idris. Both Muslim, and both heavily influenced by Classic Black Music regarded as Jazz. The two artist have been in sporadic correspondence since Idris was living in between Egypt and Morocco. They both decided that now was the best time to introduce their sound on a more elaborate and expansive scale. Their first introduction can be found on Idris' 1st album release, "The Year in White"(The Deluxe Edition)".
